Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine and analyze the financial performance of Sharia Insurance Companies in Indonesia using the Surplus on Contribution method. This research is a kind of applied research with quantitative analytical analytic analysis. The population in this study is 42 units of sharia unit insurance. The sample used in this study is Sharia Insurance Companies in Indonesia in the 2014-2018 period which has criteria as many as 21 companies. Data analysis technique uses the Surplus on Contribution (SOC) method. Based on the description of the theory and the results of research conducted using descriptive analysis of the analysis of the financial performance of sharia insurance companies in Indonesia with the Surplus on Contribution method, the following conclusions are drawn The financial performance of sharia companies by using the Surplus on Contribution method which was listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2014-2018 explained that the average value of the financial performance of insurance companies is in the good category. Financial Performance of Islamic life insurance companies during the 2014-2018 period based on the Surplus on Contribution method shows that the average value of the financial performance of insurance companies at PT. Prudential Life Assurance is higher than other insurance companies. While the Ramayana Insurance company Tbk has the lowest value compared to other insurance companies.
