Abstract

AGreen open space in the city is an orderly path, the green line that composes a fabric in the form of a unit in the city area called the green line, green open space is basically "green open space contained within a certain scope with the form of an area or area or area that displays or a path with certain boundaries with one of the boundaries or all of its boundaries containing green plants This study aims to determine how far the implementation of urban forest management in realizing green open spaces in the Pekanbaru City area and what factors are the obstacles to urban forest management in realizing green open spaces in the Pekanbaru City area. This research was conducted in the city of Pekanbaru, Riau Province, the selection of this location was based on the existence of a problem regarding the arrangement of urban forests in the area of Pekanbaru City. The research methods used are: (1) Literature research, namely examining books and other written works to obtain secondary data. (2) Field research, namely going directly to the field to get primary data from competent sources related to the object of research. The results of the study indicate that: (1) the implementation of urban forest management in realizing green open space in the city of Pekanbaru, although it has experienced a slight increase, is still below the target percentage for green open space, which is 30% of the area of Pekanbaru City. (2) Pekanbaru City Government has made various efforts by planning appropriate areas to be used as urban forest areas so that green open spaces can be realized as they should be.
