Abstract

Occupational safety and health is an important thing that must be considered by the company. This is because the impact of accidents and occupational diseases is not only detrimental to the workforce, but also the company itself and has the potential to affect the company's productivity. In general, occupational safety and health refers to the interaction between the workforce and the machines or equipment used and the work environment in the company's operational and production processes. The use of technology and various kinds of chemical raw materials has a high level of risk of causing work accidents. In addition, occupational diseases can also be caused by high exposure to the work environment. As for this study, there are main problems to be discussed, namely, the Implementation of Occupational Safety and Health (K3) for workers at PT. Indah Kiat Pulp & Paper Perawang and the second Obstacles in the implementation of Occupational Safety and Health (K3) for workers at PT. Indah Kiat Pulp & Paper Perawang. And the purpose of this study is the same as the formulation of the main problem, namely to find out the results of the formulation of the problem made by the researcher. This legal research belongs to the type of observational research. This type of research method is intended to solve problems that exist at the present time by collecting data and compiling or clarifying it, then analyzing and seeing a legal reality in society to then obtain a result. The research results that the authors obtained are the implementation of occupational health and safety protection for workers at PT. Indah Kiat Pulp & Paper Perawang is quite good, it's just that there are some employees who have work accidents while doing work caused by several factors, the most important factor is the element of negligence from the workers themselves because they do not heed the instructions from the boss/employer on the spot he works and in the Barriers accepted by PT. Indah Kiat Pulp & Paper Perawang in carrying out occupational health and safety is the lack of awareness of the workers regarding the dangers of the work being carried out and not agreeing with the application of the established working relationship and the workers are not talented. So work accidents can occur, here and there also caused by carelessness at work.
