Abstract
The character of students are very important because the students prepared not only for intellectual intelligence, but also for the bright character, faithful man, devoted to Allah. So that can make students who have brilliant characters, one of them can be through Islamic education learning in every level of education who is in school. But the phenomenon at SMPN 1 Tapung Hilir the students pay less attention to things related to character such as playing truant during class, fighting with others friends, littering, smoking, mocking each other and cheating on the exam. Therefore, the author wants to examine the influence of Islamic education learning on the character of class VII students at SMPN 1 Tapung Hilir Kampar Regency. The formulation of this research whether there is the influence of Islamic education learning on characters of Class VII Students at SMP Negeri 1 Tapung Hilir Kampar regency? The purpose of this study was to determine the influence of Islamic education learning on character of Class VII students at SMPN 1 Tapung Hilir Kampar Regency. The method in collecting data is a questionnaire with 79 respondents and documentation. The conclusion is that there is influence between Islamic education learning on the character of class VII students at SMPN 1 Tapung Hilir. This is evidenced by the acquisition of significance values smaller than 0.05, which is 0.017. The level influence of Islamic education learning on character of students at 0.072 or 7.2% this means that the influence is low because it is in the range of the coefficient interval 0.00 - 0.199. Value the coefficient of determination (R Square) shows that the character is influenced by 7.2% by Islamic education learning, whereas 100% -7.2% = 92.8% influenced by other things.
