Abstract

Illocutionary Speech Acts to the Speech of Young People in the Lalang Village, Sungai Apit Sub-District, Sik Regency Illocutionary speech acts cannot be avoided in daily conversations, both by children and adults, because illocutionary speech acts serve to state something, demand, complain, beg, recommend, promise, apologize, command, blame, praise, swearing, asking, and thanking, offering something, giving a name, giving in, isolating, and so on. For example, we are always grateful when we are given something or when we finish shopping, we also often apologize when we make mistakes, and we like to order the younger ones to do something, and so on. The problem of this research is how the illocutionary speech acts found in the speech of the young people in Lalang Village, Sungai Apit District, Siak Regency. This study aims to describe and analyze illocutionary speech acts found in the speeches of young people in Lalang Village, Sungai Apit District, Siak Regency. This research approach is a qualitative approach. The theories used in this study are Rahardi (2005), Nadar (2009), and Chaer (2010). The type of research used in this research is the type of library documentation research / library research. While the method used in this research is ethnographic method. The data source of this research is all conversation stories of young people in Lalang Village, Sungai Apit District, Siak Regency on February 11, 2020 which were recorded at the time of data collection. Data were collected using observation techniques, recording techniques, listening techniques, and note taking techniques. The data that had been collected were analyzed according to a qualitative approach, namely data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that the assertive illocutionary speech in this study aims to claim, complain, report or inform, and state, where there are 14 out of 54 illocutionary speeches that contain assertive functions. Then the directive illocutionary speech in this study aims to advise, order, command, beg, and recommend, where there are 20 out of 54 illocutionary speeches that contain directive functions. While the expressive illocutionary speech in this study aims to thank, congratulate, apologize, and blame, where there are 9 out of 54 illocutionary speeches that contain expressive functions. Through the research results, it is concluded that the illocutionary speech acts in the speech of young people in Lalang Village, Sungai Apit District, Siak Regency exist or are distributed in the five functions of illocutionary speech, namely the function of assertive speech, directive, expressive, commissive, and the function of declaration. .
