Abstract

Plantation is an important factor for the community to encourage the pace of economic and social growth of the community, besides that plantations can also have an impact on regional development. This study aims to determine the impact of the exsistence of oil palm plantations on the development of the area in the Dayun sub district by identifying the impact of the exsitence of oil palm plantations on the socio-economic conditions of the community and knowing the impact of the existence of oil palm plantations on regional development. The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative and statistical analysis. The sample in this study was 156 people in the Dayun sub district. The results of the analysis of the impact of the existence of oil palm plantations on regional development in Dayun Subdistrict provide many good changes from the socio-economic sector as well as the construction of physical facilities in the region, as evidenced by the existence of community oil palm plantations to increase their daily income then encourage the number of migrants in the region and bring new habits, new technologies, and different lifestyles. With the positive impact felt by the community around the Dayun Subdistrict area, of course, it also encouraged physical development around the area.
