Abstract

Leave is given to Civil Servants whose working period is at least 1 year, but in the regulations, maternity leave is not limited to female employees whose working period has not been one year. Every female Civil Servant is given the right to maternity leave for 3 months, but at the Department of Trade and Industry, Indragiri HilirTembilahan Regency there are still female civil servants who take excessive leave. And if it is associated with exclusive breastfeeding, this is not in line because the duration of exclusive breastfeeding is 6 months, while the length of maternity leave only lasts for 3 months. The main problem in this research is how the procedure for the application of maternity leave rights is based on the State Civil Service Agency Regulation no. 24 of 2017 Against Civil Servants at the Trade and Industry Office in Indragiri HilirTembilahan Regency, and what are the sanctions given to Civil Servants who violate the rules in the Implementation of Taking Maternity Leave Permits given to Female Employees at the Trade and Industry Office in Indragiri Hilir Regency Tembilahan. The research method used is observational research by means of a survey, which means that research is carried out directly in the field to obtain information and data in the form of questionnaires and interviews. Meanwhile, by its nature, this research is descriptive in nature, which is to describe what is currently happening. The implementation of maternity leave at the Department of Trade and Industry in Indragiri HilirTembilahan Regency has been going well in accordance with the statutory regulations that have been set. Although there are still some shortcomings, namely there are still female Civil Servants who take more maternity leave than the time stipulated by the regulations, even though this matter has been clearly stated in the regulations regarding the length of maternity leave that can be taken by civil servants. The female civilian.
