Abstract

The National Eastern Route (Km 21,6 – Km 25,1) Tenayan Raya Pekanbaru is one of the main road networks that accommodate traffic flow from Pekanbaru City to Pelalawan Regency and Siak Sri Indrapura Regency. There is an alwaysincreasing number of vehicles every year and causes crowd road. Besides, there always happened accidents frequently. The purpose of this research is to analyze the traffic accident rate. Then, it has applied for Black Spot and Black Site, and the way of handling. This research uses the field observation method by observing and collecting data. They belong to primary data and secondary data for five years (2014 – 2018). The data was obtained from Pekanbaru Traffic Police and P2JN Bina Marga KemenPUPR Riau. The calculation uses the Accident Rate Black Spot and Black Site formula to determine the prone to accidents. The analysis result shows that the number of accidents during five years was eight accident cases, the highest Accident Rate value for the Black Spot is 0,12 at Km 23 while Black Site has the highest Accident Rate value of 0,12 at Km 23. During the day from 10.01 AM WIB – 2.00 PM WIB. The types of vehicles that were recently involved were Truck/Bus – Motorbikes, with three incidents. There were 12 victims, namely six people who died, two people seriously injured, and four people slightly injury and the most victims were aged 36-40 and 51-55. The main factor causing accidents is the human factor. Prevention and handle of traffic accidents have been executed by repairing roads regularly, adding signs and socializing in order how people to obey the traffic rules.
