Abstract

The increase in the amount of waste generated will increase the burden on the landfill and cause excess capacity. One way that can be done to reduce waste generation is by applying the concept of Reduce, Reuse, Recycle (3R). In supporting the 3R concept, a communal or regional scale waste management site is needed. Sukamaju Village is one of the villages in Pekanbaru City that does not yet have a 3R TPS that is in accordance with technical standards. There is still vacant land in the midst of the lack of land in urban areas and people who are classified as educated so that Sukamaju Village can be used as a planning location for 3R TPS. The purpose of this research is to plan a Material Recovery Facilities with Reduce, Reuse, Recycle principles (MRF 3R) in Sukamaju Village, Sail District The approach used is a deductive approach with quantitative descriptive analysis methods. Quantitative descriptive analysis was used to analyze the condition of solid waste in Sukamaju Village and to plan a Material Recovery Facilities with Reduce, Reuse, Recycle principles (MRF 3R) in Sukamaju Village. Based on the research, it was found that the waste generation in Sukamaju Village was 2,640.4 kg/day with the composition of organic waste 1,356.51 kg/day and inorganic 1,208.21 kg/day. In the selection of 3R MFR locations, there were 21 lands that met the land area criteria and based on buffering against rivers and settlements, only 4 lands could be used as 3R MRF location options. From the 4 location options, after evaluating the variables and location selection indicators, the selected location is located in RW 03 Jl. DR. Susilo with a land area of 3,360.18 m2 which will serve the entire Sukamaju Village. Processing of organic waste at MRF 3R in Sukamaju Village by composting using the open windrow method and inorganic will be processed by sorting, washing, counting, compacting and making handicrafts. The need for the 3R MRF building area in Sukamaju Village based on the planned waste management is 195.2 m2.
