Abstract

One of the problems that often occurs in the oil and gas industry is the pipeline network. There are several things that cause obstacles when the pipe flows fluid such as scale, corrosion, and pipe leaks. These problems can lead to a reduction in the size of the inside diameter of the pipe and reduce the thickness and service life of the pipe. There are several solutions that can be used to overcome these problems, one of which is pigging. Field A is a field that tends to experience problems with the flowline from GS Pusaka to GS Zamrud. To overcome these problems, a pigging design will be carried out with the help of an olga simulator. In this study, various pressure variations were used in the fluid that pushed the foam pig, namely 40 psi, 75 psi, and 85 psi. This pressure affects the speed of the foam pig and the distance traveled by the foam pig with respect to time to determine the effect of pressure on the rate of sweeping of the foam pig. Based on the results of the olga simulator, the one that affects the rate of sweeping on the pigging work is pressure. Based on the results of the olga simulator, it can be seen that the decrease in the pig rate is strongly influenced by pressure. From the results of the olga simulator output, it is found that pressure changes affect the sweeping flow rate where the higher the pressure used, it can be analyzed that there are obstacles that block the pig which causes the rate of the pig to decrease. The most optimal pigging pressure was obtained at 75 psi with an average pig speed of 0.0330 m/s and the resistance that caused the pig's rate to decrease occurred four times. At a variation of 85 psi, the pressure suffered by the pig is 165.8 psi which causes the pig will be break
