Abstract

Riau Pos newspaper is a daily newspaper published in Riau. This newspaper belongs to the Jawa Pos group. The daily newspaper Riau Pos was published for the first time on January 18, 1991 in a printing house owned by the Riau provincial government. The problem in this study is how is the language error at the morphological level in the editorial plan of the Riau Pos newspaper, the 1-31 October 2019 edition. The theory that the writer uses in this research is Nanik Setyawati's (2010) theory as the main theory, and M. Ramlan's (2009) theory as the supporting theory. The data source of this research is 26 editorials in the Riau Pos Newspaper Edition 1-31 October 2019. The method used in this research is descriptive method. The approach used is a qualitative approach. The type of research used is documentation research. Based on the data analysis, the results of the research conducted by the author were: 1) removing the affix there were 14 errors, 2) the sound that should have been melted, there were 2 errors, 3) the shortening of the morphs mem-, men-, meng-, meng- there are 5 errors, 4) improper use of affixes there are 2 errors. The total number of language errors in the Riau Pos newspaper October 1-31 2019 edition is 23 word errors.
