Abstract
Parents who have children with special needs are vulnerable to psychological problems. Factors that cause problems due to economic factors. Adequate finance is needed for the necessary services, free time is also needed for handling children and also a negative response from the environment would emerge burden on parents which impact their psychology. This vulnerability triggers parents to become psychologically unwell. The purpose of this research is to find out the correlation between qana'ah and psychological welfare on parents who have special needs children in Pekanbaru. The data collection method in this study uses two scales: the scale of qana'ah by using Rusdi's theory (2016) Hamka (2017) and psychological welfare scale by using Ryff's theory (1995). The number of subjects in this study is 150 people who were determined by cluster sampling techniques. The results of the study by using Pearson product moment correlation analysis indicates that there is a positive relationship between qana'ah and psychological welfare on parents who have children with special needs in Pekanbaru with a value of r = 0.711, and a significance value of p = 0,000 (p <0.05). The higher the qana'ah leads to the higher psychological welfare of parents with the special needs children. Moreover, the effective contribution of qana'ah to psychological welfare is 50.5%.
