Abstract
In a marriage, there is a term of exogamy marriage in wich someone is forbidden to marry another person in the same tribe or clan. Based on the phenomenon existed in Buluh Cina Village, exogamy is forbidden because the villagers consider it as marrying their own siblings. The purpose of this research is to know the psychological impact of exogamy marriage and to know the dynamics of it. This research involved two subjects who were the doers of exogamy marriage in Buluh Cina Village, Siak Hulu District, Kampar Regency. The method used in this research was qualitative with case study approach. The research results show that there is modelling/imitation factor done by the subjects. There are four process that cause exogamy marriage such as attentional process, retentional process, behavioral production process, and motivational process. There are some psychological impacts occur on both subjects such as the spouse feels stressed out and anxious. This is because their marriage is confronted by their family, traditional figures, and local communities.
