Abstract
This study is motivated by the emergence of many sharia hotels which have become a trend in Pekanbaru city. However, is it questioned whether the hotels are real sharia or just the name. The problem in a sharia hotel is not only claims and labels, but it must be clear that the specifications and criteria are not in doubt and only as a business commodity. The problem formulation of the study is whether Amanah Edotel (educational hotel) in Pekanbaru is feasible as a sharia hotel? The aim of this study is to investigate the feasibility of Amanah Edotel Pekanbaru as a sharia hotel. The theoretical framework of this study is based on the Fatwa of the National Sharia Board-Indonesian Ulama Council No. 108 / DSN-MUI / X / 2016 concerning guidelines for the Implementation of Tourism based on Sharia Principles Regarding Provisions of Sharia Hotels. The data sources of this study are primary data and secondary data. The population and sample of this study are hotel managers and guests of various types of rooms at Amanah Edotel. The data analysis technique used is a qualitative descriptive method which aims to answer the question of how the feasibility of Amanah Edotel Pekanbaru as a sharia hotel. While the data collection techniques used are observations and interviews. The results of this study indicate that the Amanah Edotel has approached the feasibility of operations as a sharia hotel based on the Fatwa of the National Sharia Board-Indonesian Ulama Council No. 108 / DSN-MUI / X / 2016. However, it should be continued to the process of halal certification from the Indonesian Ulama Council in order to guarantee the confidence and trust of hotel guests.
