Abstract
Non-watermelon farming is one of the farmers' livelihoods in Sungai Pagar Village, Kampar Kiri Hilir District, Kampar District which tends to increase. Farmers' income can be increased through production inputs effectively and efficiently. This study aims to 1). Knowing the characteristics of farmers and nonseed watermelon farming profile 2). Knowing the use of non-seed watermelon cultivation technology 3). Knowing the cost of farming, production, income, and farm efficiency 4). Factors that affect the income of non-seed watermelon farming. The study was conducted by survey and the location of the study was chosen purposively in Sungai Pagar Village. The research method is a survey method and the location determination is done by considering that in this area there are many non-seed watermelon farming. Respondents were taken by means of Simple Random Sampling on 45 farmers. Data analysis methods used are descriptive qualitative analysis, quantitative descriptive, and multiple regression. Based on the results of the study that: the characteristics of non-seed watermelon farmers the highest average age of 40-49 years amounted to 15 people, the average level of education 12 years amounted to 25 people, gender i majority of men, average experience of farming 5 -9 years amounted to 30 people, and the number of family dependents 1-4 people numbered 23 people. Non-watermelon watermelon farming uses its own capital, the status of ownership of leased land with an area of 2.0 ha to 6.0 ha and a total of 2.71 HKP male workers. Farmers incur a farm fee of Rp 8,381,122 Rp / Kg / MT, the average cost of farming is 100,573,464 Rp / Kg / Year, average gross income of Rp 67,444,444 Rp / Kg / MT with an average of Rp 809,333,328 Rp / Kg / Year and net income of Rp 71,266,667 Rp / Kg / MT with an average of Rp 855,200,004 Rp / Kg / Year with an efficiency value of 1,05, then non-seed watermelon farming is feasible to run / profitable . Dominant factors affecting non-watermelon watermelon farm income are production, labor costs outside the family (TKLK), production, selling prices and seed costs that experience a significant (real) effect on non-seed watermelon farm income at a significant level of 5% (0.05% ) while the level of education, farming experience and age do not significantly affect watermelon farm income.
