Abstract

This study aims to compare the financial performance of state banks and private banks in Indonesia in the 2015-2019 period using financial ratios. In this case, the financial ratios used consist of ROA, ROE, NPL and LDR. The data in this study were obtained from Indonesian banking statistics. The sampling method was purposive sampling, namely sampling with certain considerations. The sample in this study based on the criteria is four government banks (Bank BRI, Bank MANDIRI, Bank BNI and Bank BTN) and four private banks (Bank BCA, Bank DANAMON, Bank Mega and Bank BUMI ARTA). This study uses financial ratios, Return On Asset (ROA), Return On Equity (ROE), Non Performing Loans (NPL), Loan to Deposit Ratio (LDR). The analytical method used is the independent sample t-test. The results showed that government banks and private banks have a significant difference in the ROE and LDR ratio, while there is no significant difference in the ratio of ROA, NPL.
