Abstract

Research entitled: “The Effect of Various POCs of Fruits and NPK 16:16:16 on the Growth and Production of Shallots (Alilium ascalonicum L). The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of interaction and the main growth and production of shallots given POC fruits and NPK 16:16:16. This research has been carried out at the Experimental Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Riau Islamic University, Pekanbaru City. The study period was four months starting from January to April 2021. This study used a Factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of two factors. The first factor was the administration of fruit POC (P) consisting of 4 levels, namely: without fruit POC, 60 ml/l papaya POC, 60 ml/l pineapple POC and 60 ml/l citrus fruit POC and the second factor 16:16:16 NPK fertilizer consisting of 4 levels, namely: 0, 30 g/plot, 40 g/plot and 50 g/plot in order to obtain 16 treatment combinations. Each treatment combination consisted of 3 replications, so there were 48 experimental units (plots). Each experiment consisted of 25 plants per plot and 5 plants were sampled, resulting in a total of 1200 plants. Parameters observed were plant height, number of leaves, age of harvest, number of tubers, wet weight of tubers, dry weight of tubers, and tuber weight loss. The data were statistically analyzed and further tested for BNJ Honest Significant Difference at 5% level. The results showed that the interaction of POC of fruits and NPK 16:16:16 significantly affected plant height, number of leaves, age of harvest, wet weight of tubers per clump and dry weight of tubers per clump. The best treatment was a combination of 60 ml/l fruit POC (P3) and 16:16:16 NPK fertilizer 50 g/plot (N3).
