Abstract
The aim of this study was to determine the effect of interaction between the main plots and the effect of sub-plots, namely the effect of the ab mix nutrition stage and various growing media on the growth of Kale (Brassica oleraceae) plants using NFT hydroponics. The research was carried out at the Experimental Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Riau Islamic University, Jalan Kaharuddin Nasution Km 11, No. 113, Air Cold Village, Bukit Raya District, Pekanbaru City. This research was carried out for three months, starting from March to May 2021. The design used in this study was the Divided Plot Design. The main plot is the stage of giving the concentration of AB Mix Nutrients (N) and the sub-plots are various planting media (P) each consisting of 4 treatment levels. There were 16 treatment combinations with three replications. The study consisted of 48 experimental units. Each experiment consisted of four plants. The total number of plants is 192 plants. Parameters observed were plant height, harvest age, number of leaves, leaf area, economic wet weight, root volume, root length and root crown ratio. The data were statistically analyzed and continued with the honest significant difference test (BNJ) at the 5% level. The results of the study were the interaction of the stages of giving ab mix nutrition and the use of various kinds of growing media to have an effect on all Kale plant parameters. The best treatment was the stage of nutrient concentration ab mix 1500 ppm in stages and the use of husk charcoal growing media. The main effect of the ab mix nutrition stage had an effect on all observation parameters, namely the 1500 ppm ab mix nutrition gradually and became the best treatment. The main effect of rice husk charcoal growing media is to all parameters of observation and the best treatment using husk charcoal.
