Abstract

This research was carried out in the experimental garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Riau Islamic University, Pekanbaru for 3 months starting from October to December 2020. Objectives This research was conducted to determine the interaction and main effect of NPK Mutiara 16:16:16 and the frequency of pruning on the growth and production of telang flower. The study used a factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 2 factors, the first factor was NPK 16:16:16 consisting of 3 levels, namely 4, 8 and 12 g/plant. The second factor is the frequency of pruning which consists of 3 levels, namely 1, 2, and 3 times of pruning. Parameters observed were plant height, age of flower emergence, number of flowers per plant, weight of plant flowers and number of residual flowers. The data obtained were analyzed statistically and continued with the BNJ test at a level of 5%. The results showed that the interaction of NPK Mutiara 16:16:16 and the frequency of pruning had an effect on the parameters of the weight of the flowers with the best treatment of NPK Mutiara 16:16:16 at a dose of 12 g/plant and the frequency of pruning was 3 times. The main effect of NPK Mutiara 16:16:16 was significant on all observed parameters, the best treatment was at a dose of 12 g/plant. The main effect of pruning frequency was significant on the parameters of age of flower emergence, number of flowers planted, weight of planting flowers and number of flowers, the best treatment was the frequency of pruning as much as 3 times.
