Abstract

This research was conducted at the Experimental Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Riau Islamic University, Pekanbaru City for 3 months, starting from October to December 2018. The aim of the study was to determine the effect of the interaction and the main concentration of shallot extract and the duration of soaking on the growth of patchouli cuttings. The study used a Factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) which consisted of 2 factors, the first factor was the concentration of shallot extract (K) consisting of 4 levels, namely 0, 200, 400 and 600 g / l of water and the second factor soaking time (L) consisted of from 4 levels, namely 20, 40, 60 and 80 minutes. The parameters observed were as follows: shoot appearance age, live percentage, number of shoots, longest shoot length, number of leaves, number of primary roots and root volume. The results of the observations from each treatment were analyzed statistically and followed by further tests of Honestly Significant Difference at the 5% level. The results showed that the interaction of onion extract concentration and soaking time affected all parameters, the best treatment was onion extract concentration of 600 g / liter of water and soaking time of 60 minutes. The main effect was the concentration of shallot extract on all parameters, the best treatment was 600g / liter of water. The main effect of immersion time affects all parameters, the best treatment is 60 minutes.
