Abstract

Effectiveness of Two Types of Pollinating Insects on Growth and Yield of Two Cucumber Plant Varieties (Cucumis sativusL.). The research was conducted at the Experimental Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Riau Islamic University, Pekanbaru City for 3 months starting December 2019 - February 2020. The purpose of this study was to determine the interaction effect and the main two types of insect pollinators on two cucumber varieties. The design used in this study was divided plot design in the form of a completely randomized design consisting of the main plot, namely the type of pollinating insect (P) with 4 treatment levels and subplots, namely the variety (V) which consisted of 2 levels of treatment, so that there were 8 combinations. treatment with 4 replications, so that there were 32 experimental units, each experimental plot consisting of 4 plants and 2 plants as samples, a total of 128 plants. The parameters observed were the age of flowering, the number of male flowers, the number of female flowers, the percentage of flowers to become pistils, the percentage of pistils to fruit, the age of harvest, the number of fruit planted, the weight of fruit planted, the number of residual fruits and the number of seeds per fruit. Data were analyzed statistically and continued with BNJ at the 5% level. The results showed the interaction between Heterotrigone and cucumber varieties Harmoni affected the parameters: harvest age, number of fruit planted, fruit weight per plant, number of remaining fruits and number of seeds per fruit. The main factor. The type of insect Heterotrigonaitama affected all the parameters observed. The main factor of variety affects all parameters observed, the best treatment is Harmoni variety.
