Abstract

This thesis examines the solutions made by United Nations related to cases of gross human rights violations happened to Rohingya ethnic people in Myanmar which is the case was motivated by the enactment of The 1982 Citizenship Law in Myanmar who only know 139 ethnicities, where the Rohingya are not included in inside of it. Then over time, the relationship between the Government Myanmar and Rohingya people have gotten worse and worse until now there have been cases classified as gross human rights such as murder and rape mass. The problem raised in this thesis is how the settlement made by the United Nations for gross human rights violations at Myanmar and what are the obstacles faced by the UN in resolving gross human rights violations in Myanmar. This thesis uses the Normative method, which is the process is researching cases and coupled with resolutions and reports considered a policy issued by the United Nations- The nation then linked it to the discussing UN Charter about related matters. The United Nations is judged to be unable to resolve the problems that exist between the Government of Myanmar and ethnic citizens Rohingya due to policies issued by the United Nations- The nation is only reprimanded and no severe sanctions are imposed. In In addition, Myanmar's principle of sovereignty is very strong and compact which is lacking due to the desires of each country within The United Nations resulted in the United Nations difficult to help resolve the case.
