Abstract

ABSTRACT Over time, regional expansion also occurred at the sub-district and sub-district/ village levels. This happened in Kelurahan Air Dingin, Kecamatan Bukit Raya, Kota Pekanbaru, previously this area was included in the area of Kelurahan Simpang Tiga. The purpose of the expansion of the Kelurahan is to improve the performance of the government in providing services to the community who are considered to be the center of public assessment of what is received, both positive and negative. This phenomenon is a government policy that can affect the running process of a government administration service provided by the government as a public service provider to the community to achieve good governance. So, to know more about the expansion of this region, research is needed on the expansion of this region. So, the researchers took steps to make research with the formulation of the problem, namely how the aspects of monitoring the expansion of the area in the Kelurahan Air Dingin according to Law Number 23 of 2014 and how the influence of the expansion of the Kelurahan Air Dingin on the quality of government administration services in the Kelurahan Air Dingin. With the aim of knowing the aspects of supervision of regional expansion and the effect of expansion on the quality of government administration services in Kelurahan Air Dingin. The type of research that researchers use is observational research which is conducted by means of a survey. Researchers conducted direct research to the location using data collection tools in the form of interviews and questionnaires. The reason the researchers chose this type of research was to determine the aspects of monitoring the expansion of the area in Kelurahan Air Dingin. The nature of this research is descriptive, it is used to get a complete picture of the effect of the expansion of Kelurahan Air Dingin on the quality of government administration services. The results of the study concluded that the government policy to carry out expansion was in accordance with the original purpose of expansion, namely to provide maximum administrative services to the community. The supervision that has been carried out by the government to carry out regional expansion has been right on target and is running with the procedures and provisions contained in Law Number 23 of 2014 concerning Regional Government and the expansion that occurred in Kelurahan Air Dingin has not had a negative effect on the quality of administrative services provided for the community. Subsequent expansion should complete data before and after expansion for evaluation materials by the government and must be supported by qualified apparatus capable of planning to carry out the main objectives and supported by good infrastructure.
