Abstract

The development of internet technology today is growing very rapidly, especially in the business world. Technology companies also take advantage of this by launching an online transportation application called Go-jek as a liaison between consumers and drivers (drivers). It can be called a service provider or an electronic system operator. With this application, it is easy for consumers to move quickly. There are 2 (two) main problems that the researchers raised in this study, namely First, what is the form of online application-based transportation service consumer data management to date and second, what is the responsibility of online transportation service providers for the confidentiality of consumer data. In this study, researchers used normative legal research methods where data will be obtained from reading and analyzing written materials. The results showed that. Indonesia has not been able to provide regulations that are compatible with existing technological developments. This can be seen from the many regulations regarding the protection of personal data in electronic system administrators, making ambiguity on what kind of data must be protected. Online transportation may misuse consumer data if we look at previous cases such as Tokopedia which recently happened. This data is traded without the owner's knowledge, of course a major problem for Indonesia, which until now does not have a legal umbrella that can force electronic service providers to fully secure their data. So that the current public information data can still be exposed easily.
