Abstract
Currently, K-pop culture is in great demand by various groups, especially teenagers. where they love their idols through the appearance of their idols so that many fans are interested in wanting to look like their idols. In addition, it is not uncommon for fans to be too obsessed with their idols which can lead to the emergence of celebrity worship, but this can be influenced by various factors, one of which is religiosity. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between religiosity and celebrity worship among young K-pop fans in Pekanbaru. The research subjects were 200 teenagers aged 15 to 21 years who were in the city of Pekanbaru. The sampling technique used is Accidental Sampling. The data collection method uses the Celebrity Attitude Scale (CAS) which has been compiled by Maltby et al (2006) and has been modified by Fajariyani (2018) which consists of 40 items to measure celebrity worship and the I-PMIR scale based on the theory of Raiya et al (2008) which was developed by Ramdani et al (2019) totaling 52 items. The data were analyzed using Spearman's rho correlation and the results showed the value of the correlation coefficient r was -0.593 with p of 0.000 (p <0.05). It can be concluded that there is a significant negative relationship between religiosity and celebrity worship among young K-pop fans. That is, the higher the religiosity, the lower the celebrity worship of K-pop fans and vice versa, the lower the religiosity, the higher the celebrity worship of K-pop fans. Keywords: Religiosity, CelebrityWorship, Teenagers, K-POP.
