Abstract
This research was conducted on 14 female basketball athletes at SMP N 9 Pekanbaru, this study aims to determine the contribution of arm muscles and eye and hand coordination to the shooting ability of free throw basketball athletes at SMP N 9 Pekanbaru. The type of research used in this study is correlation. The research instrument used was the expanding dynamometer test, the baseball throwing test and the basketball free throw shooting test. Based on the results of data analysis and hypothesis testing obtained, for the contribution of arm muscle strength to shooting free throw basketball or variable X1 to Y obtained rcount> rtable or 0.97> 0.576, for eye and hand coordination of the ability to shoot basketball free throw or variable X2 to Y obtained r count> r table or 0.577> 0.576, while for the contribution of arm muscle strength and eye and hand coordination to the shooting ability of free throw basketball or varibael X1, X2 to Y obtained r count <r table or 0.547 <0.576 note there is no significance arm muscles and eye and hand coordination to the free throw shooting ability while there is a contribution to the free throw shooting ability of female basketball athletes as much as 29.16% and the remaining 70.84% is influenced by other factors.
