Abstract

Teacher Strategies in Improving Learning Ability of Physical Education for Deaf Students of Public and Private SMPLBs throughout Pekanbaru City This research was conducted to determine the teacher's strategy to improve the physical education learning ability of deaf students of state and private SMPLB in Pekanbaru City, the type of this research was quantitative descriptive with a sample of 11 physical education teachers of state and private SMPLB in the city of Pekanbaru. The instruments used in this study were questionnaires with a total of 30 question items and data analysis in this study with a percentage technique. The results showed that the teacher's strategy in improving physical education learning ability of deaf students of state and private SMPLB in the city of Pekanbaru on the indicator of strategy forming students' attitudes reached 86.13% with very high categories, inductive learning strategies reaching 73.86% with high categories , deductive learning strategies reached 84.09% with very high categories, exploratory learning strategies reached 56.06% with moderate categories, indicators of reciprocal learning strategies reached 75% with high categories, guide discovery reached 75.75% with high categories, learning strategies problem solving reached 76.13% with high categories, demonstration learning strategies reached 78.40% with very high categories, direct instruction learning strategies reached 75% with high categories, and cooperative learning strategies reached 94.31% with very high categories. Overall from some of the above indicators it can be concluded that the achievement of the teacher's strategy in improving the physical education learning ability of deaf students reached 79.01% included in the Very High category.
