Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of Leg Muscle Explosion Power and Leg Length Against the Capability of Sprint 100 Meters in Class XI Students of Taruna Mandiri High School Pekanbaru. This type of research is multiple correlation research. The population in this study was the tenth grade male of Taruna Mandiri Pekanbaru High School, totaling 40 students. The sampling technique is total sampling but in the implementation the researcher is only given a class representative so the number of samples is 20 people. The instruments used were a jump test without a prefix, a leg length measurement test and a 100 m sprint run test. From the calculation results obtained rx1y = 0.479, the correlation value rx2y = 0.505 and the correlation value x1x2y = 0.583. The conclusions in this study are 1) There is a relationship between leg muscle explosive power and 100-meter sprint running by 23%. 2) There is a relationship between leg length and sprint 100 meters by 25.5%. 3) There is a relationship between leg muscle explosive power and leg length with a 100-meter sprint run in the XI grade Taruna Mandiri Pekanbaru high school students at 34%.
