Other thesis, Universitas Islam Riau.
Abstract
In the implementation of construction project there is often waste, not only easte of materials but also waste of activities. Lean construction concept is a concept of thinking to reduce waste activities by using value stream mapping (VSM) method. This study aims to identify non value adding activity & unnecessary (NVAAU) and implementation of value stream mapping (VSM) in the main builing construction project SMK Muhammadiyah 4 Pekanbaru. To achieve the research objective, lean construction will be carried out with the value stream mapping method. The data collection was carried out on the main building construction project SMK Muhammadiyah 4 Pekanbaru for thhe work of beams and plate 2nd floor. Of every NVAAU event found during the project will be analysed the frequency of the type and cause in the observational research conducted only on one casting cycle. The results showed that the most common type of NVAAU is W4 (waiting for workers). While the most frequent NVAAU causes are B3 (lack of control by contractors towards the implementation of field work) and D6 (lack of field personnel from contractors). Based on vsm study results, it can be concluded that NVAAU activity is identified with a percentage of activities of 21.06%, while NVAAN activities are identified with an activity percentage of 8.27%. Then the remaining percentage of 70.67% is active VAA.
