Abstract

In fluid transfer, there is often a loss of pressure caused by many factors that can affect the amount of pressure loss along the surface pipe, so as much as possible the pressure loss along the surface pipe must be minimized so that the fluid produced can be completely or mostly up to the gathering system. In field Y the pipe length in well X is 145ft with a diameter of 4 inches and an actual pressure of 4872 BFPD from reservoir to wellhead. Due to the pressure drop in the pipe, a pressure loss analysis was carried out on the channel pipe in field X. The method used to analyze the pressure loss in the pipeline is the Orkiszewski method, then comparisons the calculation results of the formula with the calculation of the real field results. The calculation of the two friction factor in the Orkiszewski method depends on the flow pattern that occurs, thus the calculation of the pressure gradient always begins with determining the flow pattern parameters. The results of the calculation of the pressure loss using the Orkiszewski method in the well X field Y is 6.575 psi / ft and the production rate after the pressure loss is 6.5 BOPD. Then the comparison of the calculation of formula pressure loss with real field results is 9.93%, this indicates that the Orkiszewski method has a high level of calculation accuracy and is good for use in well X field Y.
