Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of drum band extracurricular activities at SMAN 1 Pangkalan Kuras. The theory used in this study in accordance with Suryosubroto implementation of extracurricular activities in schools will provide many benefits not only for students but also for the assistance of organizing educational schools. Components in extracurricular that is there are objectives, materials, methods, facilities and infrastructure and evaluation (2009: 77-79). The method used in this study is the method of analysis description using qualitative data. Data collection techniques used in this study were structured interviews, nonparticipant observation and documentation. The results of this study that the author made about the drum band extracurricular uses components of consideration such as: the purpose of the comparison is to determine the behavior and abilities of students. The material in the extracurricular opening was released in the basics in drum bands such as: percussion theory, introduction to basic music theory, how to hold and beat technique. The method used in the drum band extracurricular uses lecture and demonstration methods. Facilities and infrastructure is one of the equipment to be used effectively, facilities and infrastructure used in the drum band extracurricular are pianica, symbal, blyra, snare drum and the field for training. Evaluation is done to understand weaknesses and weaknesses in terms of training, attitude and mastery of the material.
