Abstract

Researchers conduct data processing of the object of the research object, the processing is done systematically. In this research problem formulation: 1) The form of Rarak Oguang Duo music performance at a wedding in Kenegerian Kopah, Kuantan Tengah District, Kuantan Singingi Regency. 2) Rarak Oguang Duo's music function at a wedding in Kenegerian Kopah, Kuantan Tengah District, Kuantan Singingi District. In this study there are several theories on objects in the study. The theory of musical concepts used is the theory of Bruno Nettl, Dieter Mack. The theory of the function of music used is the theory of Alan P. Merriam. The research method used in this research is qualitative / descriptive research, while the data collection technique uses observation, interview, and documentation techniques. The results were obtained based on naturalistic data. Data collection time is 4 months, from December to March. for data collection in the field researchers used data collection techniques, while the data collection techniques are observation, interviews and documentation. The object of this research is "Rarak Oguang Duo Music Performance". The results of this study indicate that the music of Rarak Oguang Duo has 2 pieces of Oguang (Gong), which means Oguang Duo, which has two pieces of Oguang (Gong) with different tones, plus 1 calempong used to give tempo to the Oguang Duo with a tempo of 90 (moderate) on Oguang Duo, and one Dobat (Drum) which is typical of this Rarak.
