Abstract
In general, a city cannot be separated from the existence of public space. Public space is a container that can accommodate certain activities of humans, both individually and in groups. In this day and age, public space is very much needed by the people of the city, the problem of public space at this time is not being able to become a place for people to do activities due to the ineffective use of existing public space. One of the public spaces in Pasir Pangaraian is the Plaza plateau Pematang Baih. The government's goal to form this Plaza is to complete the facilities of a city. The method in this study is descriptive analysis to determine the characteristics of the Pematang Baih Plateau Plaza and quantitative analysis methods to identify factors that influence the attractiveness of community visits. Based on the results of the study, it shows that based on the characteristics of the Pematang Baih Plateau Plaza, the Pematang Baih Plateau Plaza is side by side with certain building functions, namely the worship building plaza of the Islamic Center Great Mosque of Rokan Hulu Regency, and the Ratik Togak Monument. socio-cultural, While at certain times (incidental), this plaza can also be used with various complementary activities, namely to accommodate various activities that are classified as economic, ecological, and architectural activities. Based on confirmatory factor analysis, it is known that the factors that influence the attractiveness of public visits to the Pematang Baih Plateau Plaza obtained 4 main factors, namely:the comfort factor and completeness of the facilities, the ease of achievement factor, the lighting completeness factor and the vegetation completeness factor.
