Abstract
The increase in tourist visits and tourism activities that take place in the area, indirectly has an impact on people's lives, this will be related to the impact of tourism on the social and economic conditions of the people in Singkep District. The purpose of this study is to see the impact of tourism on the social and economic conditions of the community in Singkep District with the target (1) knowing the characteristics of the community in Singkep District (2) identifying the impact of tourism on the social conditions of the community in Singkep District (3) identifying the impact of tourism on the economic conditions of the community in Singkep District. This research uses a deductive research process with a questionnaire method using a Likert scale with a quantitative approach, the sampling technique is carried out using stratified random sampling with a sample size of 400 respondents. The results showed that, (1) the positive impact of social conditions with the highest percentage of 80.9% was to provide opportunities for the public and tourists to get to know each other with a mean value of 4.05 and a standard deviation of 1.13. The negative impact on social conditions with a percentage of 86,5%, namely the attitude or behavior of tourists who are imitated by local people with a mean value of 4.32 and a standard deviation of 0.97. (2) Positive impact on economic conditions with a percentage of 81.9%, namely an increase in community income due to tourism activities with a mean value of 4.10 and a standard deviation of 1.11. The negative impact on the economic condition of the community with a percentage of 86,15% is dependence on the tourism industry with a mean value of 4.30 and a standard deviation of 0.95
