Abstract
Karimun Regency is an island that has a variety of minerals including tin and land sand. This mining activity has been carried out in Karimun Regency, especially on Kundur Island, one of which is in Kundur Village. This research is motivated by the former mining which has not been used and has left a hole in the form of a hole. The purpose of this research is to formulate the direction for the development of ex-mining areas, from previously unproductive to productive and can improve the welfare of the community towards sustainable development. The analytical method used is the Geographical Information System (GIS) analysis to determine the condition of the ex-mining area as seen from the distribution and classification of mine types, descriptive analysis intends to describe in more depth the conditions of the post-mining area based on socio-economic condition as well as the potential and problems that exist in Kundur Village and Process Hierarchy Analysis (AHP) to determine the types of activities that can be developed in the post mining area. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the existing post-mining area conditions can be divided into two types of metal mineral content, namely tin and onshore sand excavation which are identified as having sufficient land capability values to be reused. Then from the results of selecting the type of the post mining area used, based on stakeholders and a comparison of village conditions. The location of the ex-mining is used as a tourism location (Cultural Tourism) with the alternative being in Dusun IV.
