Abstract
The location of the development is very decisive for the people below. The factors that influence the location are land value, distance to work place, distance to main road, reach to transportation, disaster free, and distance to facilities. Low needs do not match the needs of low society, minimal needs will reduce the balance for low people. The purpose of this study was to assess the location of low-income housing development in Pekanbaru City. This study uses a mix method analysis with scoring and qualitative descriptive analysis techniques. The location of this research is in Tampan District with the research time from November to June 2021. Data collection is done by means of observation and interviews. The population in this study were all heads of families in the District of Tampan and the sample of this study amounted to 100 people. The results of the identification of the location of low-income community housing according to the RTRW of Pekanbaru City in Tampan District which can be developed into housing in Tobek Godang Village consist of point 12 and point 13 which are in accordance with the criteria for housing locations for low-income people.
The results of the assessment show that there are 3 potential locations to be developed into housing for low-income communities in Tobek Godang Village, including point 12, point 13, and point 14, while the location is very potential for housing for low-income people based on an assessment of the criteria for being close to the workplace, free of charge. natural disasters, close to the main road, affordable by transportation, close to facilities, land conditions, and land prices are at point 12 in Tobek Godang Village.
