Abstract

The lack of students’ enthusiastic to cooperate on the learning process was the main problem of this research. As a result, the students’ learning outcomes became low. The objective of this research was to determine whether the aplication of the TAI cooperative model could improve the learning process and students’ mathematics learning outcomes of VIII grade of SMP Negeri 4 Dayun. The subject of this research was VIII3 grade of SMP Negeri 4 Dayun which consisted of 20 students. The writer used observation sheets and learning test result as the instrument. This research was descriptive which applied the qualitative and quantitative data. Based on the observation sheets, in every meeting started from the first meeting in cycle I to the last meeting in cycle II showed that there was an improvement in the learning process. Moreover, based on the students’ test result, there was an increased 20% on the basic score, 40% for daily test I and 50% in daily test II. To sums up, the application of the TAI type of cooperative learning model can improve the students’ mathematics learning outcomes of VIII3 grade of SMP Negeri 4 Dayun.
