Abstract
The community's need for transportation is increasingly influencing the growth of land, sea and air transportation to support economic activities. One of the transportation that is often used is airplanes, airplanes produce sounds that are quite disturbing for passengers, people outside the plane and the environment. Noise that occurs continuously can cause health problems such as emotional, psychological, physiological and communication disorders. The purpose of this research is to find out the noise level in the airport area and residential area around the Sultan Syarif Kasim II Pekanbaru and to know the impact caused by the noise of airport activities on the community around the Sultan Syarif Kasim II airport in Pekanbaru. Comparing noise levels in settlements and airports with KepMenLH No.48 1996 quality standards regarding noise level standards. By using the Sound Level Meter (SLM) tool. The study was conducted for 3 days, the first day was conducted in the southern residential area, the second day was conducted in the northern residential area, and the third day the study was conducted in the airport area. This study uses a simple method, which uses Sound Level Meter and Stopwatch. The first measurement process determines the location of the tool at the location, then data collection starts by pressing and stopped simultaneously when the stopwatch has reached 10 minutes, calculate the average noise obtained, then the measurement results of the noise will be known, after the results obtained by adjusting the data with the quality standards that have been set. The results showed that northern housing was 74.59 dBA and southern housing was 76.32 dBA. The highest approval level in the Airport Area is according to the south runway at 92.59 dBA. As many as 68% of people in southern housing were disturbed and 78% of people in northern housing were disturbed, 98% of people in southern housing experienced difficulty concentrating and 98% of people did not choose to move house.
