Based on the results of the research, it is known that the existence of Public Green Open Space in Bukit Raya District covers an area of 76.11 hectares or 3.4% of the total area where based on Law No. 6 of 2007 the minimum area of public green open space is 20%. Of course, this is still far from the predetermined percentage, so there is a need for a strategy in optimizing public green open space in Bukit Raya District. The research method used is descriptive quantitative. In identifying problems that exist in the study area, map overlay analysis techniques are used and field observations are data collection techniques using purposive sampling with a total of 15 respondents. Furthermore, in determining the strategy for optimizing public green open space in Bukit Raya sub-district, a SWOT analysis is used . Based on the results of the analysis and the results of field observations, the Bukit Raya District is still very short on the availability of public green open space where in this district there is only public green open space of 3.4 of its area and there are several abandoned public green open spaces and the need for attention from the community and government, from the results of the SWOT analysis. In determining the optimization strategy of Public Green Open Space, the results show that Bukit Raya District has the potential in developing and developing green open space to meet the needs of the community, but there is a need for cooperation between the community and the government in realizing strategies for optimizing public green open space in Bukit Raya district, Pekanbaru city.
