Abstract
Pekanbaru is one of the cities that does not escape the waste problem, where the waste problem seems to never be resolved properly. The sight of scattered garbage, seems to be a common thing. Sukajadi sub-district, for example, is one of several sub-districts which is the largest producer of waste. The purpose of this research is to identify waste management based on community participation in Sukajadi District, Pekanbaru City. This study uses primary data in the form of field observations, interviews and questionnaires as well as secondary data in the form of the Department of Environment and Hygiene in Pekanbaru City, Sukajadi District, and Kelurahan in Sukajadi District. This research method uses a qualitative descriptive method and a qualitative descriptive quantitative using a Likert scale analysis. The results of this study indicate that the evaluation of the solid waste management system in Sukajadi District for the condition of the container is considered not good with an achievement rate of 38.66%, collection is good with an achievement rate of 69.4%, transportation is quite good with an achievement rate of 45.26% good prevention with an achievement level 61%, waste reduction is quite good with an achievement rate of 59%, reuse is quite good with an achievement rate of 58.88, recycling is quite good with an achievement value of 43%, replacing a good enough achievement rate of 56% and the role of society in handling waste is good with an achievement level 60%.
