Abstract
The problem in this study is that there are still many students who do not understand the basic techniques of shooting basketball correctly. The researcher aims to find out how understood the students are in understanding the correct basic technique of shooting basketball. The form of this research is Classroom Action Research (CAR) with a population of class XI students totaling 350 people. The sample in this study was obtained based on the purpose sampling technique so that the sample of this study amounted to 36 people. The instrument used in this study was a rubber ball as a means of modifying a basketball, then the data was processed with statistics. The results of the analysis in this study obtained 29 categories of complete results with a percentage of 80.6%. and incomplete categories of 8 people with a percentage of 22%. After being processed with statistics, the increase in learning basketball shooting through modification media with a value of 80.7 or located at intervals of 76-82 lies in good category. Based on the results of the research conducted, it can be concluded that the improvement of basketball shooting skills through the modification of the XI grade students of SMAN 2 Tualang at a Good level.
