Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of Certification Policy Implementationon Teacher Performance at Junior High School of Pekanbaru City. This research used descriptive method with quantitative approach. The population in this study were Pekanbaru City Certification Teachers who served at Junior High School 32 and Junior High School 3233. The sampling technique in this study was simple random sampling based on the characteristics of homogeneous population. The data collection conducted with questionnaires, interviews, observation and documentation. This study uses variable (X) is Certification Policy Implementation with Indicators of Educator Qualification, Education and Training, Teaching Experience, Learning Planning and Implementation, Top Assessment, Academic Achievement, Professional Development Work, Participation in Scientific Forums, Organizational Experience in Social and Education, and Awards that are Relevant in the Education Field. While the variable (Y) is teacher performance with indicators such as motivation, responsibility, honesty, discipline, exemplary, work ethic, innovation and creativity and competence. The results showed that the Certification Policy Implementationon has a significant effect on teacher performance at Junior High School of Pekanbaru City. This is because the teacher has carried out his profession with full responsibility so that the learning process can run smoothly. Therefore, each teacher can be more active in training / seminars, professional development work, participating in scientific forums, and participating in organizational activities both in the social and educational fields so that they can further improve their performance to achieved rewards which are relevant in the education field.
