Abstract

To determine the effect of Guided Inquiry learning models on the ability to understand mathematical concepts of eighth grade students of MTs Daarun Najah Teratak Buluh. This research is a quasi-experimental research (Quasi Experimental Design) with the Nonequvalent Control Group Design research design using purposive sampling technique. The population in this study were all eighth grade students of MTs Daarun Najah Teratak Buluh in the academic year 2019/2020. While the samples in this study were students of class VIII A as the experimental class and VIII B as the control class. The instrument used in this study was a test sheet for the ability to understand mathematical concepts, an observation sheet for the implementation of the learning process, and a learning kit consisting of Syllabus, RPPs, and Student Worksheets (LKPD). Data collection techniques used were test techniques in the form of pretestposttest test sheets and non-test techniques in the form of observation sheets for the implementation of the learning process. Data analysis techniques used were qualitative descriptive analysis, descriptive statistical analysis and inferential statistical analysis. Based on the results of the study there is an influence of the Guided Inquiry learning model on the ability of understanding the mathematical concepts of eighth grade students of MTs Daarun Najah Teratak Buluh.
