Abstract
Analyzing poetry is a literary variety whose language is bound by rhythm, mantra, rhyme, and arrangement of lines and stanzas. Poetry is therefore necessary taught to students. Skills to analyze the building blocks of poetry in learned in the 2013 curriculum in 2013 subjects in secondary schools above, specifically for group X. The research entitled Ability to Analyze the Elements Poetry Builder class X SMA Negeri 1 Bandar Petalangan Regency Pelalawan Academic Year 2018/2019. The problems in this research are (1) How is the ability of class X SMA Negeri 1 Bandar Petalangan Pelalawan Regency in analyzing poetry on the aspect of diction in the school year 2018/2019, (2) What is the ability of class X SMA Negeri 1 Bandar Petalangan Pelalawan Regency in analyzing poetry in the aspect of rhyme years 2018/2019 teaching and (3) What is the ability of class X SMA Negeri students 1 Bandar Petalangan, Pelalawan Regency in analyzing poetry in aspects 2018/2019 academic year. The purpose of this research; to collect data and information about students' ability to analyze the building blocks of poetry class X SMA Negeri 1 Bandar Petalangan, Pelalawan Regency Academic Year 2018/2019 the data collected were described, analyzed and interpreted in a detailed and systematic manner. The population in this study was class X IPS 1, totaling 30 students. The sampling in this study is saturated sample technique. The theory used in this research is a theory stated by Constantya (2016), Mukhsin Ahmadi (1990) and Waluyo (1990). This research uses a descriptive method. This type of research is Field Research. Data collection techniques used in the study these are the observation technique and the test technique. The results showed that ability to analyze elements of poetry pemabngun class X SMA Negeri 1 Bandar Petalangan Pelalawan District for the 2018/2019 Academic Year in terms of diction categorized as good (43.3%) in this case the hypothesis is rejected. On ability analyzing the building blocks of poetry in the rhyme section is very poor good (10.5%) in this case the hypothesis is rejected. and on analytical skills the building blocks of poetry in the concrete section are categorized as very bad (9%) in this case the hypothesis is rejected
