Abstract
The cementing process is very important in oil and gas drilling operations, the quality of cement needed in cementing operations must be strong and sturdy so that the casing does not collapse due to pressure from the formation wall. Whether or not the quality of the cement bond can be determined by the value of compressed strength and shear bond strength of a cement. There are several types of additive innovations in drilling cement which are expected to optimize the strength of cement, one of which is carbon corn stalks. Carbon has 2 crystalline forms, one of which is crystalline, one of which is diamond where diamond is the hardest and best mineral. This test is conducted to utilize carbon stem corn to be an additive and is expected to increase and determine its effect on compressive strength and shear bond strength in class G drilling cement. To determine the effect of adding carbn corn additives, a concentration of 0%, 1%, 2.5%, 3%, and 3.5% was carried out by weight of cement (BWOC) and a 24-hour residence process in a water bath. Making cement suspension is done by mixing water, polypropylene, and carbon corn stalk using a mixcer, after mixing with the mixcer then soaking it in water bath, then testing compressive strength and shear bond strength using hydraulic pressure tools. Based on testing of compressive strength and shear bond strength with additive carbon corn stalks on class G cement, the maximum yield obtained was at a concentration of 3%. Where the compressive strength obtained is 1467.148 Psi and for the shear bond strength obtained is 275.49 Psi.
