Abstract

Thermoelectric cooler (TEC) is an alternative cooling technology, because TEC has advantages such as small size, lower noise and vibration, easier temperature regulation, requires less maintenance, can absorb heat using the principle of heat difference so that apart from being a the cooler can also be a heater, and besides that it can be turned on with DC current. This study aims to calculate the heat flow rate of the cylindrical type thermoelectric cooler module, to find out how to apply the thermoelectric module as a cooling device to the cylindrical type thermoelectric cooler module, to find out the barriers to the performance of the cylindrical mini showcase cooler. The results of this study are obtained. The test results show the rate of conduction heat transfer on all surfaces in the walls of the mini showcase room is 948.89 K/W, in the calculation of the conduction heat transfer load on variations without a cooling load with a duration of 10 minutes, it is obtained 0.003 watts, and the calculation results the conduction heat transfer load on the variation with the cooling load resulted in 0.003 watts. In calculating the results, the highest COP (Coefficient Of Performance) value is 18.61 and the lowest is 4.43.
