Abstract

The problems of inundation in Pekanbaru City caused by long duration of rainfall become main problem. Siltation of drainage channels, the lacking of catchment area, landuse change, and unproper planning of drainage surely contribute of inundation in Pekanbaru City.The research location is Siban Sub Watershed that located in Pekanbaru City. The purpose of this study is formulate handling strategie to inundation flood in Siban Watershed. The research method were used rational method to calculate discharge, Bransby and William method to calculate runoff coefficient, Theissen method analysis to calculate rainfall intensity, overlay, and LFA analysis. Based on the results, Siban Sub Watershed could divided into 6 Sub-Sub Watershed. Refers to the result of runoff coefficient that have five classification there are very low, low, medium, high and very high. Runoff coefficient in very high classification has a range value 52-60. Based on peak discharge analysis in Sub-Sub Watershed in Siban Sub Watershed there were three classification such as low, medium and high. The value of peak discharge in high classification in Sub-Sub Watershed D is 25,52 m3/detik. Based on the analysis, land cover, land use, drainage conditions were the parameters that affect the performance of runoff coefficient and peak discharge in Siban Watershed. The previous analysis was used to formulate the strategies to handling inundation flood in Siban Watershed. The first priority of handling strategy is clean up and normaliz drainage channels and rivers, making waste bins and management waste facilities and infiltration wells. Second priority of handling strategy is to make law enforcement in the riverbanks drainage area. The third priority of handling strategy is formulate concept of drainage channels.
