Abstract
At this time the need for energy is increasing. The increasing need for energy will reduce fossil energy. Therefore, alternative energy is needed to help reduce the need for fossil energy. Alternative energy that has the opportunity to be developed is biogas energy. Biogas technology is one of the most appropriate technologies for processing waste that can produce energy by utilizing microorganisms to remodel organic waste placed in an airtight space. The purpose of this study was to obtain a simple household scale biogas system design using tofu dregs as raw material. The method used in this study is an experimental method by looking at the differences in manometer height, biogas pressure, gas volume development, total gas volume, biogas potential, and flame test. This study used a mixture of tofu waste and water with a ratio of 1: 2 at a digester capacity of 0.122 m3. Data were collected for 27 days. The result of this research is the total volume of biogas produced is 1.31 m3 and the methane gas produced can be used by the stove for 20 minutes 37 seconds.
