Abstract

Coconut shells are usually use as fuel for daily needs. Coconut shell can be used as charcoal which can be processed into various products, one of which is briquettes. Charcoal can be processed if the production of coconut shell processing produces good quality charcoal, it selling value and quality is high. Entrepreneurs of coconut charcoal process coconut shell into charcoal in high production quantities so that process also takes a long time. To find out wheather the quality of charcoal production is good or not, it’s necessary to design a system classification quality of production coconut charcoal. To determine the quality of charcoal production is good or not using Naïve Bayes method consisting of 6 attributes used, including the amount of shell, weather, burning method consisting of furnaces and drums, burning time, moist charcoal and dry charcoal. The test was carried out using Naïve Bayes method using a confusion matrix with a classification accuracy of 90%, a precision balue of 100% and a recall value of 86.7%. Based on system testing on users, the classification system of quality production coconut charcoal using Naïve Bayes method has very good results with an average percent index value of 86.67% and this system can be implemented.
