Abstract

The Sultan Riau Grand Mosque in Penyengat Island is located in the Riau Archipelago Province, Tanjung Pinang City. On the island of Penyengat there is a historic mosque, where the mosque is a place of worship for Muslims and also as a tourist spot for tourists who want to visit the island of Penyengat. One of the problems that become an obstacle for prospective tourists who will visit the Penyengat Island mosque is because there is no introduction to the augmented realitybased 3-dimensional object of the Penyengat Mosque. Augmented Reality is expected to provide real knowledge with virtual 3-dimensional objects that are displayed in a real environment in realtime. In this study using the Modeling and Texturing methods of 3-dimensional objects that produce applications for tourists and this learning uses Augmented Reality technology with markerless which introduces the cultural heritage of the Sultan Riau Grand Mosque, Pulau Penyengat. From the results of the study, it can be concluded that the introduction of the Sultan Riau Grand Mosque in Penyengat Island by using an augmented reality application can be an alternative for tourists before visiting the mosque. The Augmented Reality application in this study uses the Blender 3D Unity 3D and the ARCore SDK. The results of the user test are 89.16% so that this application can be implemented as a medium for introducing the Sultan Riau Grand Mosque, Pulau Penyengat Tanjungpinang, Riau Islands, based on Android.
